Trekking Challenge
Trekking Challenge
At the Talentum Learning Trust, we are committed to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment where every learner can thrive. Our mission is to support and enable all our students to believe in themselves, succeed in life, and aspire to be the best they can be. This commitment extends beyond the classroom, as we encourage our community to embrace challenges that promote personal growth and make a positive impact on the world around us. One person doing just that is one of our staff, Vikki Jackson.
Trek26 for Alzheimer's Society
In May, one of our staff at All Saints First School, Vikki Jackson, will be taking on the challenge of a 26-mile trek around London to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society. Vikki's decision to participate in this event is deeply personal, as she lost her father to Alzheimer's disease earlier this year.
Vikki's father, a former Royal Marine, was a man who loved a good walk and a challenge. He would undoubtedly be proud of his daughter's determination to honour his memory and support the Alzheimer's Society in its mission to provide help and hope to those affected by dementia.
The Trek26 series, organised by the Alzheimer's Society, is a collection of 13 or 26-mile treks across the UK. These events aim to raise funds for vital dementia research and support services, with the ultimate goal of creating a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
Our Values in Action
Vikki's decision to take on this challenge aligns perfectly with the core values of the Talentum Learning Trust. Her act of aspiration, in pushing herself to complete this demanding trek, is a testament to our belief in empowering students and staff to reach for their dreams. The compassion she demonstrates in honouring her father's memory and supporting those affected by Alzheimer's reflects our commitment to fostering a caring and supportive environment.
Join Us in Making a Difference
We invite you to join us in supporting Vikki and the Alzheimer's Society in their efforts to combat this devastating disease. Your donation, no matter the size, can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by dementia and their families.
